Dubai – a pit stop to Europe or a true destination?

Dubai, home to the affluent – BLING CITY!

Having lived in Dubai previously I have the skinny on Dubai a little more than most. Yes, it is home to the rich and famous. A place for people at that top of their game to chillax eat caviar and drink champagne and have fun in the sun or on the sea.

FAST CARS – Yes, @Superblondie.com certainly shows us what the elite drive and has now expanded into glimpses at luxury homes.

REAL ESTATE is certainly exhilarating with the competition now being shown on TV SHOW Dubai Hustle showing how the realtors compete with their interesting showings to make the big buck commissions.

HOTELS there are a plenty; and depending on what you are after from your stay will depict which area you should stay in. If you are after a city visit, buying gold, wanting an escape on an island retreat or a dessert resort. There are some very stylish hotels in all areas so you will always find something to fit your budget.

For me I like to stay in a hotel that offers some good water fun in the sun and opt for hotels with waterparks. Atlantis Dubai is extremely impressive and is at the end of the Palm Jumeirah. It hosts pristine beaches, an opportunity to swim with dolphins and a state of the art water park called Aquaventure. It also hosts some beautiful restaurants @whitebeachdubai offers a relaxing area for a chill out vibe by the sea. Or, you can go to @Seafiresteakhouse for the most mouth-watering chateaubriand you will ever experience (pictured below).

The ultra-luxe Atlantis the Royal Dubai is truly a captivating destination that caters to the most discerning travelers seeking an unparalleled experience of luxury and opulence. During my recent visit, I had the privilege of being accompanied by the esteemed Executive Director of Hotel Operations, Mr. Ian Alexandre. Ian graciously offered me a comprehensive tour of the resorts. Navigating through the sprawling grounds in a golf buggy and providing exclusive insights into the lavish amenities and offerings of Atlantis the Royal Dubai. I managed to enjoy a sit-down with Ian and discuss the Atlantis group of properties, architects, F & B and his role in helping the cogs of this well oiled Atlantis Group keep turning (please click on the image below for the interview).

One of the many remarkable highlights of this extraordinary retreat is the unique culinary experience offered at Nobu by the Beach. The impressive fish market display allows guests to handpick their desired seafood, which is then expertly prepared to their preference. This personalised approach to dining, coupled with the stunning beachside setting, truly exemplifies the exceptional standard of luxury and service at the Atlantis the Royal Dubai. (Check-out the poolside video tour below).

Furthermore, the attention to detail within the hotel is nothing short of astounding, reflecting a commitment to excellence that exceeds the expectations of even the most discerning guests, including the elite and celebrated clientele. The presence of Louis Vuitton icons artfully scattered throughout the grounds further underscores the resort’s dedication to luxury and sophistication.

As one ascends the iconic building, the sense of luxury only intensifies, with opulent touches such as gold accents and private infinite pools contributing to an atmosphere of sheer indulgence. The meticulously crafted amenities, embellished with gold, exemplify the unwavering commitment to providing an extraordinary experience for every guest.

Additionally, the privileged guests staying at the Royal have the distinct advantage of enjoying unrestricted access to the facilities and amenities across both properties, including the renowned Aquaventure. However, it is worth noting that guests staying at the Atlantis Dubai, although immersed in luxury and exceptional service, are unable to access the exclusive private pools and grounds reserved for the Royal’s esteemed patrons.

The allure of Atlantis the Royal Dubai lies not only in its unparalleled luxury with its ‘Sky pool villas’ with fabulous views; but also in the meticulous attention to detail and the seamless fusion of extravagance and sophistication, ensuring an unforgettable and elevated experience for all who enter its opulent embrace.

My answer to my question is if traveling out of Australasia — Dubai is certainly a destination holiday.

Top tips

  1. When entering Aquaventure grab a waterproof mobile case – it is so worth it being able to take some fun action photos and videos.
  2. Start at the end of the park and do the park in reverse – this offers minimal queuing.
  3. Pick-up a golf-buggy taxi – they are free, and they run up and down the park continuously and they stop at lots of stops.
  4. Plan – if you want to see the dolphin show – know the timings.
  5. Pre-book your dolphin experience to avoid disappointment.
  6. If arriving from outside of Atlantis catch the monorail to Aquaventure on the Palm Jumeirah – so leave your car at home!
  7. Do subscribe to this blog so you don’t miss out on learning what is on and what is hot!
  8. Rent a locker and put some money on the wristband with some money to buy F&B in the waterpark. Also, it allows you not to cart your stuff around. Often where you will board a ride will be different to exiting a ride.
  9. Buy the water footies so you can keep them on all the rides and not have to worry about your flip-flops/thongs going missing – or your feet getting too hot!

    1. So pleased you enjoyed it. Dubai holds such a special place in my heart having seen it evolve since 1991 when I first started working there. It used to be a village where everyone knew everyone and now it is a cosmopolitan metropolis.
